Todd Smithline

Todd Smithline, founder and CEO of Smithline PC, has been deeply involved in the legal aspects of technology for nearly three decades. He began his legal career at prestigious firms Latham & Watkins and Gunderson Dettmer. Smithline’s significant career milestone was his role as General Counsel at Marimba, where he played a key role in transitioning the company from a start-up to a successful public entity. He later founded Smithline PC, a boutique firm that specializes in technology transactions for leading Silicon Valley companies and introduced an innovative fixed-fee subscription billing model. Beyond his professional practice, Smithline is also an educator, teaching at the UC Berkeley School of Law, and serves as a board member or advisor to various start-ups. He holds degrees from Tufts University and UCLA School of Law.
