Andrea Walton

Andrea Walton serves as the Chief People Officer at bluebird bio, having joined the company in 2022. With a career that extends over two decades, Walton has specialized in career development, team building, leadership coaching, and change management. Her early experiences include runway modeling for Ebony Magazine, which she credits with deepening her understanding of beauty beyond the superficial. Walton’s professional journey in human resources includes significant positions at major corporations such as Nestle, Target, and Coca-Cola, as well as at e-learning service providers like 2U and Edmentum, where she was the Chief People & Culture Officer. Her academic achievements were marked by obtaining a GED at age 19, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and an MBA in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. Originally from Pasadena, CA, she now lives in the DC metro area and is a mother to two daughters and one son. Walton is passionate about developing people and aiding them in achieving their fullest potential.
