Shekar Ayyar serves as the Chairman and CEO, bringing a robust educational background and extensive professional experience to his role. He holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated as a Palmer Scholar, a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University, and a bachelor’s degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Prior to his current role, Ayyar was the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Telco and Edge Cloud business at VMware. He also served as EVP of Strategy and Corporate Development at VMware, where he oversaw more than 60 acquisitions and investments. His earlier career includes positions at BindView and Instantis before their acquisitions by Symantec and Oracle, respectively. Additionally, Ayyar has provided strategic advice to C-level executives at Lucent and McKinsey. He is actively involved in various boards, including Altair and the regional board of Room to Read, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting literacy and girls’ education globally.
