Abhay Roy is currently the Vice President of Engineering, known for his leadership in the development of Cisco’s Nexus family of products, including the Nexus 7k, 9k, 6k, and 5k. His expertise spans multiple technologies such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, BFD, Segment Routing, IPv6, OTV, LISP, and FabricPath. Recently, he led teams focused on NETCONF/YANG manageability, virtual platforms, and DevOps, enhancing network programmability and automation. Prior to his tenure at Cisco, Roy held senior engineering roles at Sun Microsystems and Wipro Infotech in India, where he was instrumental in the design and development of Network Protocols, the Solaris TCP/IP stack, and Remote Access Servers. Tech degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, and has been awarded 37 patents in various networking technologies.
