Muthusamy 'Samy' Shanmugam

Muthusamy ‘Samy’ Shanmugam, a seasoned pharmaceutical professional, currently serves as the Head of R&D and COO of NJ Operations at Novitium Pharma. He began his career as a formulation scientist at Kali Laboratories, Inc., and later held significant roles at Par Pharmaceutical, Inc. and Novel Laboratories, Inc. Samy founded Novitium Pharma and served as its President from 2016 until November 2021. He holds an M.S. in Industrial Pharmacy from the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and is a registered pharmacist in New York. Beyond his roles in the United States, Samy has founded and directs several companies in India, including Nuray Chemicals Private Limited and Sthree Chemicals Private Limited, both of which manufacture active pharmaceutical ingredients. He is also the founder and director of SS Pharma LLC, a U.S. agent for the sales of active pharmaceutical ingredients, and Scitus Pharma Services Pvt Ltd, a clinical research organization.
