ALPLA's History

Founded in 1955, ALPLA has grown to become a global leader in plastic packaging solutions. The company started its journey in Austria and has significantly expanded its footprint over the decades. Entering the Caribbean market in 1976 and the Asia-Pacific region in 2000, ALPLA has consistently demonstrated its commitment to innovation and sustainability. Notably, it was one of the pioneers in PET recycling, establishing its first PET recycling plant in Mexico in 2005. Today, ALPLA operates 196 locations in 47 countries across four continents, employing 23,300 people worldwide.

ALPLA offers a diverse range of products, including innovative packaging systems, bottles, caps, and injection-moulded parts. The company caters to various industries such as personal care, food, home care, oil & lubricants, OTC, milk & dairy, and pesticides. Their core technologies include Injection Moulding, Extrusion Blow Moulding, Injection Moulding-Preforms, and Injection Stretch Blow Moulding. ALPLA also provides comprehensive support through its technical center, which aids in ideation, design, prototype development, testing, and production tooling validation.

ALPLA's global operations span across North America, Central and Eastern Europe, the Caribbean, and the Asia-Pacific region. With 17 locations in the United States, 32 plants in Mexico and Central America, and headquarters for the Asia-Pacific region in Singapore, the company maintains a robust international presence. It employs 2,750 people in the Asia-Pacific region, 2,300 in Mexico and Central America, and 1,550 in North America. Recent expansions include a state-of-the-art production site in Lanseria near Johannesburg, further solidifying its global footprint.
