Alameda County Community Food Bank

Alameda County Community Food Bank has been operating for over 35 years, distributing millions of healthy meals each year through a network of more than 420 partner agencies. The organization is dedicated to creating a healthy, prosperous, and just community. It offers various ways to donate, including cryptocurrency and stock donations, and runs a Virtual Food Drive to raise funds for purchasing food items that can’t be collected in barrels. Its Mobile Pantry truck visits schools, parks, and wellness centers, ensuring food assistance reaches those in need. With a strong focus on health and nutrition, the organization has banned the distribution of soda and other carbonated beverages since 2005. Alameda County Community Food Bank participates in formal research projects to understand and address food insecurity and offers various volunteer opportunities, including warehouse shifts and community food distribution. The organization hosts community engagement events like ‘Savor the Season’ and ‘Night on The Town’ and adopts a comprehensive approach to tackling food insecurity, including advocacy and policy work.
